"Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old."

(Episode 101 - A Time to Heal)

The prodigal daughter returns...

When Grace Greenleaf returns home to Memphis for the first time in two decades following the death of her sister, she quickly learns that time does not heal all wounds. Determined to find out what really happened to her sister, Grace’s arrival reignites a world of jealousy, deception and betrayal that she thought she left behind.

For five seasons, Greenleaf has taken viewers into the unscrupulous world of the Greenleaf family and the sprawling Calvary Fellowship megachurch where scandalous secrets and lies are as numerous as the faithful. Born of the church and lead by the charismatic Bishop and his wife Lady Mae, the Greenleaf family may love and care for each other, but beneath the surface lies a den of iniquity — greed, adultery, sibling rivalry and conflicting values — that threatens to tear apart the very core of their faith that holds them, and the congregation that counts on them, together. The Greenleaf family may be at the center of the most prominent church in Memphis, but the challenges each person faces within the church, within the family, and within themselves prove to be enough to put everyone’s faith to the test.

Created by Craig Wright, Greenleaf stars Merle Dandridge as Grace Greenleaf, Keith David as Bishop James Greenleaf, Lynn Whitfield as Lady Mae Greenleaf, Kim Hawthorne as Kerissa Greenleaf, Lamman Rucker as Jacob Greenleaf and Deborah Joy Winans as Charity Greenleaf-Satterlee.

  1. Grace Returns to Memphis

    Season 1

In the premiere season, Grace returns home to Memphis following the death of her sister, Faith. Sparked by Grace's return, tensions quickly rise. Grace moves back to Memphis under false pretenses to pursue her Uncle “Mac” who she holds responsible for Faith’s death. However, she finds the realities of working in her family’s church again harder than she expected.

  2. The Great Divide

    Season 2

In Season 2, Grace struggles in her position as Interim Pastor while trying to spare Calvary from being mired in scandal. As Grace wrestles with her failure to bring Uncle Mac to justice, she is pursued romantically by Darius Nash, a local journalist following the ongoing threats plaguing the Greenleaf Empire. Charity and Kevin continue to grapple with how to save their marriage as Kevin comes to terms with his sexuality.

  3. The Family Business

    Season 3

The Greenleaf family is torn apart in Season 3 when the Bishop and Lady Mae's marital strife creates a power struggle within the church. Lady Mae attempts to forgive the Bishop for his affair with her sister but her inability to equate his actions with her own indiscretions leads to the Bishop filing for divorce. Meanwhile, as Bishop attempts to pay a debt in back taxes by accepting Rochelle Cross' investment advice, Mae sets out to use her annual "Day with Lady Mae" to make a case for herself as co-pastor of Calvary, calling in the help of her old friend, world-famous Pastor Maxine Patterson (Patti LaBelle).

  4. United Front

    Season 4

The Greenleafs attempt to maintain a united front in the face of losing their church to Bob Whitmore and Harmony & Hope Ministries, but secrets past and present create what could be fatal fractures in the family's fragile foundation. Lady Mae and Grace form an uneasy alliance as they endeavor to reclaim the church from H&H, Grace from within the church, where she's operating as Interim Head Pastor, Lady Mae from without. But Grace's mission becomes complicated when a mysterious phone call sets in motion a chain of events that threatens to reveal her biggest secret yet. The Bishop continues working to mend his rift with Lady Mae while, day by day, Harmony and Hope's grip on Calvary tightens.

  5. A New Beginning

    Season 5
The final season of Greenleaf begins with Calvary facing an imminent demolition in under one week. Bishop Greenleaf and Lady Mae seek a sign from God while Charity is in the midst of a fallout with her family due to her choices. Grace relies on her investigative journalism skills and partners with Darius to get to the bottom of Bob Whitmore’s involvement with Calvary. However, Grace is still working hard to patch her complicated relationship with her estranged son, AJ.
